Safran's U.S. companies were among those recognized this week for their contributions to the Army Aviation Association of America (AAAA) Scholarship Foundation during the organization's Army Aviation Mission Solutions Summit in Nashville, Tennessee.

Safran USA, Safran Electronics & Defense Avionics and Safran Helicopter Engines donated a total of $7,500 to the AAAA Scholarship Foundation, which provides educational grants and financial aid to the families of U.S. Army pilots.

Safran representatives attended a luncheon for AAAA Scholarship Foundation donors, where the group's contribution was handed over to the scholarship's Board of Governors.

For the first time, multiple companies exhibited under the Safran banner at this AAAA-sponsored gathering. Safran’s booth featured the Arriel 1E2 engine, which is assembled at Safran Helicopter Engines in Grand Prairie, TX, and powers the U.S. Army's UH-72A Lakota helicopter. A range of Safran Electronics & Defense Avionics  solutions, including the ICDS (Integrated Cockpit Display System) and the active sidestick, also were showcased at the Safran booth.

The Army Aviation Mission Solutions Summit – held April 26-28 at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel & Convention Center in Nashville, TN – is a networking event for the Army aviation community to focus on solutions for warfighters. More than 7,000 attendees representing 44 countries were at the event.
