Safran Landing Systems’ Walton, Kentucky facility is serving as the host location for an open house this week on advanced manufacturing opportunities in Northern Kentucky.

The event’s goal is to provide a focus on careers in this sector of industry, with information on employment opportunities, training programs, apprenticeships and education.

Attendees at the open house, being held January 19 beginning at 6:00 p.m., will be able to tour the Safran Landing Systems facility and hear about “a day in the life” of an advanced manufacturing work environment.

Safran Landing Systems’ Walton site is an appropriate location for such an event, producing and refurbishing carbon brakes for jetliners such as Boeing’s 787, 737, 767 and 777, the Airbus A320 family and military aircraft.

The Walton site underscores Safran long-term commitment to U.S. industrial presence, with this location currently undergoing the fifth expansion since 1999. Valued at more than $100 million, the latest enlargement will enable the facility to meet aviation’s growing demand for wheels and carbon brakes.
