A330neo with our ADT makes first revenue flight
The A330neo made its first commercial flight on Saturday, December 15, 2018, bearing the red and green livery of launch customer TAP Air Portugal. This new airliner is powered by Trent 7000 engines with Accessory Drive Train (ADT) from Aero Gearbox International. The first flight by this latest addition to Airbus’s family of widebody airliners with paying passengers was from Lisbon to São Paulo.
After a first flight by the A330-800 variant on November 6 and ETOPS 180 approval* secured from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for the A330-900 on November 22, the 10-hour transatlantic flight marked the A330neo’s entry into commercial revenue service.
The Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 has an Accessory Drive Train (ADT) transmission system developed by Aero Gearbox International, a 50/50 joint company between Safran Transmission Systems and Rolls-Royce. The Trent 7000 ADT benefits from the maturity gained through 30 years of in-service experience with the Trent 700 engine, coupled with the latest innovations from Safran Transmission Systems.

Reflecting growing demand for widebody airliners, Airbus has already booked more than 220 firm orders for the A330neo.
