100,000: this is the number of Airbus A350 XWB harnesses produced by Safran Electrical & Power
At its Temara plant in Morocco, Safran Electrical & Power has just celebrated the manufacture of the 100,000th harness that will be installed on the Airbus A350 XWB. It was a milestone that the teams were keen to celebrate with their client.
Since 2011, Safran Electrical & Power has been manufacturing the harnesses for the Airbus A350 XWB in Morocco. The first deliveries took place in 2012 and 400 people are now working on the program at the Temara plant. "We produce 75% of the A350 XWB fuselage harnesses. We are working with the teams in Chihuahua, Villemur, Hamburg and Saint-Nazaire," said Ahmed Aziz, Industrial Brand Manager at Safran Electrical & Power.
In October 2018, the plant celebrated its 100,000th harness with the Moroccan employees, the EWIS Eurasia management teams and Julien Puyou, VP Head of A350XWB Central programme management at Airbus. He called the program a "great success" and congratulated the teams, particularly for the exemplary ramp-up they had achieved. He expressed his pride at seeing them contribute to the history of this program and underlined the strength of the partnership between Airbus and Safran. "The Airbus A350 XWB program is an industrial, technological and commercial success," he said.
For Safran Electrical & Power, it is also a team success and a first successful production project for Morocco. "We are proud to have been able to satisfy our client Airbus on the A350 program thanks to the commitment of all our employees, and we are moved by the special award we received from our client to mark the 100,000th-harness milestone," said Daniel Vassy, Director of the Safran Electrical & Power facility in Morocco.
