Winners of the Jean-Louis Gerondeau-Safran Prize hosted at the Paris Air Show
In the relaxed setting of the Safran hospitality chalet, Stéphane Cueille, Senior Executive Vice President R&T and Innovation, and Jacques Tamisier, Vice President of the École Polytechnique Foundation, hosted a reception for 25 winners of the Jean Louis Gerondeau-Safran Prize.
The awards program was created in 2011 in honor of Jean-Louis Gerondeau, a graduate of École Polytechnique and the emblematic head of Zodiac Aerospace from 1974 to 2007, to promote the emergence or development of innovative projects led by teams from the École Polytechnique entrepreneurial ecosystem. Organized jointly by Safran and the École Polytechnique Foundation, the program selects three projects each year to benefit from the financial support of Safran to pursue their research. In 2018, each winner was awarded €20,000.
The 25 prizewinners in attendance at the Paris Air Show on June 21 were able to discuss their projects and career plans with Safran employees and fellow award winners. And, of course, they had the chance to watch the exciting flying displays that are one of the highlights of the event. The gathering was a great way to further strengthen Safran's long-standing ties with École Polytechnique.
