Safran becomes a partner of the Global Apprenticeship Network (GAN)
The Global Apprenticeship Network brings together companies and organizations to support youth employment and encourage the development of apprenticeships, together with the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the OECD.
The challenge of youth employment - Combining both skills and needs
According to ILO reports, young people have an average unemployment rate 2.9 times higher than that of other ages, often due to inadequate training. However, experience shows that apprenticeships, linking education directly to the needs of the job market, is one of the keys to success in the professional integration of young people.
The launch of the GAN network in France: Safran as a partner
Founded in 2013 and already present in many countries, such as Spain, Argentina, Turkey, Mexico and Malawi, the GAN network launched its French branch in early September with a number of partners, including Safran (see below). On this occasion, Alain Dehaze, President of GAN International and CEO of the Adecco Group, Christophe Catoir, President of GAN France and president of Adecco Group France, attended the event, along with Jean-Luc Bérard, Safran Director of Human Resources, Muriel Pénicaud, Minister of Labour, and Marianne Thyssen, European Commissioner for Employment.
In addition to Safran, members of the France network include: Accenture, Carrefour, les Compagnons du devoir, Compass Group France, EDF, FIPA, the Avril Group, ISS France, Medef, Salesforce, the Adecco group, Veolia and Vinci.
Safran welcomed more than 3,000 apprentices in France in 2016. In all professional sectors there were almost 290,000 apprenticeships registered in France in 2016, an increase of almost 2% compared to 2015.
