MorphoTrust Honored with CSO50 Award for Secure Credential Manufacturing Process
November 20, 2015, Billerica, MA
MorphoTrust USA (Safran), a leading provider of identity solutions and services with issuance systems that produce 80% of the nation's driver licenses, has been named an honoree of the 2016 CSO50 Award for its secure credential production facilities and processes. The awards recognize MorphoTrust for connecting security initiatives to business value with its certified driver license manufacturing facilities. MorphoTrust will accept the award at the CSO50 Conference + Awards held on April 18-20, 2016 at the Wigwam Resort, Litchfield Park, Arizona.
As the driver license is the most commonly used proof-of-identity document in the United States, many state motor vehicle agencies (MVAs) choose to have their driver licenses produced at highly secure, centralized facilities that provide the broadest range of security options and features for physical credentials. Understanding the importance of security, MorphoTrust set out to achieve the highest levels of security certification possible from the North American Security Product Organization (NASPO) for the facilities where the driver licenses are produced. Today, MorphoTrust has the most NASPO certified ID production facilities in the world. Among those six facilities, two have achieved Class I certification. The certifications recognize MorphoTrust's dedication to security and the ability to control many levels of security risk. Achievement of these impressive security levels was led by Dennis Kallelis, Chief Security Officer at MorphoTrust USA.
"The CSO50 Award is an important validator of the hard work the security team and manufacturing team have done to secure the production of U.S. driver licenses," said Kallelis. "We are fortunate at MorphoTrust to have a strong culture of security risk management, talented security staff, dedicated employees, strong corporate support, and diligent customers that believe in security. The American people depend on the driver license to assert their identities and place a high level of trust in the authenticity of the credential. With this award, CSO recognizes the importance of securing the process of manufacturing the credentials that have become the American de facto proof of Identity."
The CSO50 Award builds on MorphoTrust's ongoing commitment to every aspect of secure credentials – from the initial design and security features through manufacturing and delivery to the end customer. Earlier this year, MorphoTrust USA was recognized by the International Organization of Standards with the ISO 14298 certification, which recognizes the highest possible security requirements for credential printing systems.
