Morpho Approaches 900 Itemiser 4DX Trace Detectors Shipped to meet Enhanced EU Screening Mandates
Supplied with 100 percent delivery success to meet the September 2015 requirements of new EU legislation for enhanced explosives screening of passengers, Morpho has shipped Itemiser 4DX to leading European aviation hubs including in Austria, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain and the UK. As a result of these contracts, Morpho is now the leading supplier of European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC)-approved ETD to airports in Europe.
The next generation of the industry leading Itemiser family of desktop ETD, Itemiser 4DX quickly detects and identifies trace amounts of explosives on skin, clothing, carried items, bags, vehicles and other surfaces.
"After becoming the first non-rad ETD system deployed airport-wide to an EU aviation checkpoint at Copenhagen Airport, the rapid adoption of Itemiser 4DX in Europe confirms its superior detection capabilities and validates the substantial investment Morpho has made in localized sales and service support," said Karen Bomba, president and CEO, Morpho Detection. "For 15 years Morpho has worked tirelessly developing, deploying and servicing Itemiser systems to help protect travelers. We take great pride in the trust put in us by the EU airport community."
Currently approved for passenger and cargo screening throughout ECAC's 44 member nations, Itemiser 4DX helps streamline operations by eliminating the administrative, regulatory, storage and shipping requirements associated with a radiation-emitting trace detection source. By leveraging long-life consumables and internal calibration, Itemiser 4DX minimizes operational costs for airports and air cargo facilities, law enforcement agencies and government and critical infrastructure installations.
Itemiser 4DX will be on display and available for demonstrations in stand 212 Hall B6 at inter airport Europe, October 6-9 in Munich, Germany.
