Marc Sorel named National Delegate for the Safran group in Russia

Marc Sorel has been named Safran's National Delegate for Russia, based in Moscow, effective January 1, 2011. He joins the Group's International Development department and will report to Emeric d'Arcimoles, Executive Vice President for International Development. Marc Sorel replaces Patrick Barraquand, who will take another management position within the Group.
Marc Sorel, 41, holds degrees from the Ecole Supérieure Libre des Sciences Commerciales Appliquées (1992) and the University of Paris I-La Sorbonne (1993). He started his career with the French Ministry of Finance as Deputy to the Commercial Advisor for Belarus, and commercial attaché for Russia. In 1997 he joined Thales Avionics as local representative, subsequently being named head of the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) department for Russia and France. In 2003 he was named Representative for Russia and Vice President of Thales International. From 2005 until this recent appointment, he was director of space programs for Thales Aerospace Division – France.
