National Week for Employment of the Disabled Safran mobilizes
Paris, 15 November 2010
For France's 14th National Week for Employment of the Disabled, the Safran group has confirmed its commitment to corporate social responsibility, by supporting the employment of disabled persons. This week-long series of actions, initiated by the association ADAPT*, enables the Group and all of its companies to marshal their forces in support of equal opportunity and diversity.
Most Safran entities are organizing various events during the week to increase employee awareness of the various aspects of integrating disabled persons in the workforce: sign language workshops, play-acting, exhibitions, roundtables, quizzes and other entertaining educational actions, etc.
Safran is also participating in specific recruiting operations, such as Jobdating, Job Studios, Handicafés and the Employment Forum organized by ADAPT on November 17. Other measures to encourage communications and raise awareness among managers and employees will also be organized in Group companies. More generally, Safran is contributing to an operation called Un jour, un métier en action, ("a day, a job in action"), organized by Agefiph**, where disabled persons seeking employment are welcomed for a day to discover the professions at Safran, and its wide range of companies.
Since 2006, Safran has supported inclusion and the hiring of disabled persons through various associations (Tremplin Entreprises, FACE, etc.). And via the Safran Foundation for Integration, Safran is conducting a project dubbed "Elan", which welcomes disabled persons to Group companies each year for apprenticeship or work-study contracts (from 2006 to 2010, more than 90 persons were welcomed through this project). In addition, Safran is a partner in the "Salto" project, launched in 2009, which offers work-study contracts to disabled persons. In May 2010, the Group signed an agreement with Agefiph, and on November 8 it joined other corporations that have signed the Diversity Charter.
