Job Description

As a member of the local IT Factory and Service Delivery Team, incumbent will act as an escalation point for level 1 to provide the expected end user support. Reporting directly to the Walton Site's IT Manager and working under the technical direction of the Service Desk Lead Toronto and North American Workplace Expert, this role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual with strong technical skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team to support and enhance the end user support experience.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Handle and resolve tickets in the ServiceNow queue, ensuring timely and effective support for end-users.
• Act as an escalation point for Level 1 technicians, providing guidance and advanced troubleshooting as needed.
• Install new software applications, hardware, and peripheral equipment on the LAN. Assist third parties with installations and configurations when necessary.
• Serve as the primary coordinator for desktop support, ensuring efficient and effective resolution of user issues.
• Maintain a high level of knowledge of operating systems and application software to provide exceptional support to users.
• Manage user accounts in Active Directory and OIAR, including adding and maintaining users, assigning application access, ensuring security, and maintaining configurations within established standards.
• Perform general management of Windows Servers, including proactive monitoring, performance optimization, and security enhancements. Work closely with the Systems Administrator to quickly troubleshoot and resolve any server issues that arise, ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining system stability.
• Act as a backup to the Systems Administrator, assisting with server maintenance, network management, and other administrative tasks as needed.
• Monitor and evaluate the efficiency of software and hardware usage, providing feedback to users to enhance their productivity.
• Monitor and report on application licenses to ensure compliance with software agreements.
• Maintain an accurate asset inventory, including tracking hardware and software assets and ensuring proper documentation.
• Ensure off-site storage of network and select PC backup media, maintaining data integrity and security.
• Maintain detailed documentation of support activities, system configurations, and procedures. Generate reports as required.
• Provide training and support to users on new technologies, software applications, and best practices for efficient usage.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, and recommend improvements to enhance the support process and system performance.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Job Requirements

Experience/Education/Certification Required

• Bachelor's degree preferred; Associate degree or High School Diploma with Net+/A+ Certification required
• Five years of technical training/experience in desktop, application, and user support
• Two years of general server management experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office products
• Prior experience with SCCM Imaging is highly advantageous
• Proven experience in managing Computer and User objects in Active Directory or OIAR
• Familiarity with ServiceNow is a plus
• Experience with application development is beneficial
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently
• Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on delivering prompt and effective support
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively
• Continuous learning mindset with a commitment to staying updated on emerging technologies and industry trends in desktop and application support.
