Job Description
Responsible for preparation of engineering design layouts, drawings of components, assemblies and systems within CATIA/SMARTEAM as well as the day to day management of these systems.
Complementary Description
1. Creates and manages SMARTEAM workflows.
2. Develop 3D models
3. Develop 2 and 3D drawings/models at the direction of design and industrial engineers
4. Creates training/tips/tricks documentation for CATIA and SMARTEAM
5. Prepares design layouts from sketch inputs, verbal and written instructions.
6. Verifies adherence to format (presentation) standards.
7. Responsible for definition of dimensions, completeness of and proper tolerancing callouts (including verification of proper "fit" with mating parts/ assemblies).
8. Verification that design conforms to division Standard Practice callouts (and other standards of producibility).
9. Enforcement of preparation of drawing tree/parts lists in conjunction with generation of drawings.
10. Verification that list of materials information is complete and that part number callouts are correct.
Job Requirements
• Minimum 2 years of CATIA V5 experience with Part Design, Generative Wireframe and Surfacing, Drafting, and Assembly Design applications.
• Minimum 2 years of SMARTEAM systems and workflows
• Minimum 1-2 years of 3DExperience (CATIA V6) experience with Part Design, Generative Wireframe and Surfacing, Drafting, and Assembly Design applications.
• Ability to help other CAD users diagnose and find solutions to complex design problems in CATIA.
• Experience using CAD software in a high tech or automotive industry.
