This position will provide both technical and administrative support for key operations in the LEAP fan blade manufacturing process.
The responsibilities encompass everything associated with MLE pairing, adhesive bonding, oven and autoclave cycles, rework support, and inspection. This role may also include support for ongoing R&D activities. This position will be for a minimum of 12 months.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions) :
1.Develop hands on production skills in support of the relevant manufacturing operations
2.Support a wide variety of project test plans
3.Provide project updates and make technical presentations to engineering and management
4.Develop, document, and implement minor repair and rework procedures
5.Prove-out and implement new tools and assembly aids used in the manufacturing process
6.Provide engineering recommendations for process improvements based on interactions with production employees and supporting data
7.Adhere to project schedules; communicating project milestone completion as well as any blocking points
8.Create and update procedures and work instructions while taking into consideration operator feedback, equipment, process data, and customer requirements.
9.Interact with our French counterparts to review technical topics and to provide project updates
10.Work with data team to develop efficient and useful reporting tools.
11.Required to comply with all OSHA and EPA regulations related to these operations.
12.Other duties as assigned.
A degree in Engineering, or other related technical discipline (Materials, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering).
Requires good communications skills, both in written documentation and verbal.
Ability to work independently and reliably.
Collaborative team player.
Organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills required.
Training or experience in LEAN Manufacturing, 6 Sigma techniques or similar manufacturing background preferred.
Knowledge of compliance with AS9100C or ISO9001 standards strongly preferred but not required.
Intermediate Level – Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with SolidWorks preferred but not required.
