Summary:
The Software team plays a critical role in implementing, configuring, customizing, and enhancing existing software and other systems to monitor engine performance. The team works closely with Safran Test Cells (STC) customers to ensure STC's software products exceed customer expectations. Additionally, the team provides ongoing customer support and training to STC customers as necessary.
The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for managing, executing and supporting software designs of assigned test cell projects. They will support and install applications, lead maintenance and troubleshooting activities including testing, review and analysis processes. The Senior Software Engineer will perform duties with limited supervision, serve as a mentor to junior Software Engineers, and ensure that projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and without compromise to Safran Test Cells' quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact and technical lead for software projects at Safran Test Cells.
• Lead application research, design, implementation, review, testing, and maintenance of Safran Test Cells' Data Acquisition and Control System.
• Investigate bugs and develop feature enhancements to existing products.
• Develop and review documentation ensuring it meets organizational standards
• Complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision within project schedule and budget requirements. Schedule, conduct, and participate in design reviews providing innovative insights and solutions to ensure quality deliverables and to drive product improvement.
• Mentor and guide other Software Engineers and provide ongoing feedback to management on deliverables and potential risks.
• Provide timely and complete information to the QA group to facilitate formal software testing.
• Acquire knowledge necessary to perform job assignments and to improve technology, products, and processes for Safran Test Cells' customers.
• Provide customer training and phone support for Safran Test Cells' software.
• Provide product support through design, implementation, installation, and commissioning.
• Continually enhance technical skills through on-going training offered through Safran and other vendors
• Actively participate in a continuous improvement culture providing recommendations and implementing enhancements to current methods and procedures.

Job Requirements

Education/Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field required.
• Structured programming background with 8 or more years of software design experience in two or more of the following programming languages: C, C++, C# required.
• At least 4 years of experience working with LAN based instrumentation including writing drivers for LAN based devices utilizing TCP/IP or UDP/IP required.
• At least 4 years of experience with web technologies including Javascript, XML, HTTP, and HTML required.
• At least 2 years of experience writing multi-threaded software required.
• Experience in interfacing with customers and providing technical feedback in a professional environment required.

Qualifications:
• Proficient with Windows and Linux operating systems and SQL databases.
• Advanced knowledge of Internet/Web technologies and client/server models in regard to application development.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written with a proven ability to be assertive yet approachable delivering a positive customer service and team experience.
• Demonstrate strong analytical skills by anticipating problems including problem identification, action planning, and execution.
• Proven ability to balance risk, effectively influence diverse teams, and take ownership of responsibility for outcomes while fostering a positive team environment.
• Demonstrate success leading large-scale, complex, multi-discipline projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders and partners.
• Ability to lead other engineers by encouraging accuracy and thoroughness in all areas of work; actively seeks opportunities to improve and promote quality and monitors project work to ensure quality of outcomes.

Specificity of the job

• Able and willing to travel up to 30% of the time both domestically and internationally, as required.
