The Quality Assurance Manager reports to the Director of Quality. As needed, the Quality Assurance Manager performs training, internal surveillance, manual revisions, completes customer surveys, hosts external audits, maintains the AS9110 Quality System, liaisons with the FAA, and annually performs the internal audit. This position has authority over and is responsible for the quality control and assurance functions of the repair station.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintains the roster, ensuring that it is updated within five (5) business days of any change, and makes the roster available to personnel.
• Maintains communications by sending revisions or acknowledging receipt of revisions to and from the FAA.
• Ensures that work accomplished outside the repair station's fixed location is done in accordance with the RSQM.
• Responds to NAA and public requests for inspection of the repair station certificate.
• Ensures the employment information is obtained and maintained for each person assigned management, supervisory or inspection authority.
• Determines equivalency of equipment and tooling used by the repair station and documents that determination.
• Determines equivalency of material and parts used by the repair station and documenting that determination.
• Ensures that the list of maintenance functions is current and approved by the FAA.
• Ensures that the list of maintenance contractors is current and provided to the FAA in accordance with the RSQM.
• Ensures the appropriate standards for quality control and assurance are established, maintained and enforced.
• Ensures that current maintenance data is purchased and organized properly.
• Ensures repair station records and documentation are compiled, maintained and properly stored.
• Ensures initial and recurrent training for all personnel involved in the maintenance, preventive maintenance and/or alteration of civil aviation articles is adequate to establish compliance with applicable regulations as delineated in the Training Program Manual.
• Ascertains qualifications of all inspection employees prior to work assignment through tests and evaluation of their previous experience.
• Ensures personnel have appropriate knowledge or are properly trained prior to assigning inspection tasks.
• Ensures compliance with RSQM in the performance of inspection duties.
• Responsible for all aspects of employee training.
• Ensures procedures are established that provide for adequate safety precautions being observed by repair station personnel.
• Ensures the proper and timely filing of reports on serious failures, malfunctions or defects.
• Determines whether incidents or alleged non-compliance with the regulation should be reported to the FAA under the Voluntary Disclosure Reporting Program described in AC 00-58, as currently revised.

Job Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to work independently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with peers at all levels throughout the work environment.
• Working knowledge of AS9100, ISO, FAA, EASA, 14 CFR (FAR) Part 21, Part 43, Part 65 and Part 145 regulations, requirements, and standards.
• Ability to write technical documents.
• Knowledge of quality specifications, FAA/EASA regulations, and NDT procedures.
• Knowledge of geometrical tolerance, including use and calibration of prevision measuring equipment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office operating systems and computer-based software.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, manufacturers' documentation and FAA regulations.
• Proficient in using various types of tools, equipment and inspection equipment, and visual inspection aids appropriate for the article being maintained, altered, and/or inspected.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Qualified per 14 CFR § 145.153.

Required Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in related technical field preferred.
• Minimum of five years' experience working in a QA/QC function in an aerospace/aviation MRO environment.
• Minimum of five years' experience with FAA regulations.
• Experience utilizing ERP system, preferably Quantum.
• Auditing experience.
• Previous supervisory experience, including leading cross-functional teams.
• FAA Airframe and Powerplant license and/or FAA repairman certificate, or ability to obtain a repairman certificate if not already certified.
• Must be appropriately certificated in accordance with 14 CFR Part 65.
