Job Description

This position will ensure the entirety of the NDT systems, methods and processes are maintained to ensure product and customer testing requirements are met. This position will ensure the integrity of the QMS is maintained through effective equipment maintenance, personnel certification and auditing of processes and instructions used throughout the QMS. This position will also support Quality Engineering activities to include product investigations, process and product audits, and corrective actions as required.

Complementary Description

• Evaluates Engineering changes for impact to NDT requirements.
• Works with the quality control and production personnel to drive the continuous improvement process.
• Tracks and ensures measuring and testing equipment used within the division is within calibration.
• Monitors and assists first article inspection (FAI) information system.
• Writes reports and standard work, performs employee training, examination, and certification
• Conducts statistical analysis and defect investigations with the intent of reducing defect impact.
• Ensures inspection tooling is inspected and conforms to specs prior introduction, responsible for the periodic inspection of equipment used for NDT inspection. May support inspection of production tooling as directed.
• Assists corrective action board (CAB) by being a member, provides problem solving / resolution.
• Performs internal process audits to company specifications.
• Occasional travel as required to help support training, supplier and/or customer issues and investigations as a technical expert.
• Function as the Responsible Level 3 for the NDT program for the methods used onsite.

Job Requirements

Education: BS degree preferred or equivalent work experience in related fields.
Experience: Minimum 4-6 years' experience within the quality environment.
Certification: Currently certified as an ASNT Level III of current NDT methods used onsite.
Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office® programs, software used for operating NT equipment (including but not limited to TomoView, Inspection Ware & Imagen); and with MRP systems. Advanced Microsoft Word & Excel skills.
Other Skills: Expert in all NDT systems operated at the facility. Proficient in reading and interpreting blue prints, models, process specifications and system procedures. Strong trouble shooting and communication skills. Advanced Spreadsheet building and Microsoft Office Skills. Proficient in programming methods for support of NDT robotic equipment.
