Job Description
Direct and oversee the company's centralized Indirect Purchasing Department in the Americas. This position will identify, lead, and execute strategic and operational activities that will generate expense reduction opportunities while working collaboratively and in close coordination with central purchasing.
Job Requirements
• Company VP of Safran Indirect Purchasing - Americas.
• Develop the Department's annual strategic plan for all the sites across Canada, USA, Mexico and Brazil.
• Coordinates closely with the central purchasing functions to ensure that strategies are streamlined across all hubs.
• Ensure One Safran principles are applied across purchasing processes but also within the sites.
• Build an organization capable of supporting the indirect purchasing needs and maintain a long-term plan to effectively optimise Indirect spend in the Americas.
• Oversee the Purchasing Department's execution of the annual plan and progress toward that plan as well as other Department goals.
• Refine and implement the Company's Purchasing Policies and Procedures.
• Develop the sourcing process that will be the fundamental operational basis for which the department teams will use to execute their plans.
• Ensure compliance, inclusive of related systems, while maintaining a sustainable and efficient procurement operations process.
• Collaborate with senior management across the Business Units in the Americas relating to the execution of the strategic plan while developing operational metrics and a robust reporting system to capture cost savings and operational efficiencies.
• Ensure that all work carried out / completed by the Indirect Purchasing Teams (Contracts, SPM, Data Administration, Strategic, Regional, Tactical, Integration team) are compliant to meet the requirements of Internal Control.
• Guide and mentor management staff on purchasing strategic view; customer service and project management skills.
• Encourage innovation and continuous improvement while implementing development opportunities to ensure the team possesses sufficient training and required skills to execute and support achievement of the Indirect Purchasing vision and plan.
• Embrace a robust pre and post contract approach and the deployment of various e-sourcing tools and techniques.
• Work with Safran's Global Indirect Purchasing Management Team on the Development and Implementation of relevant global strategies.
• Cultural Adaptability: understanding how to adjust language and management style depending on culture and environment.
