Job Description

Job Duties: Administer and maintain database systems that support multiple critical company systems. Ensure performance, integrity and security of databases, test, and implement multiple critical company systems. Responsible for SQL Server 2008R2/2012/2016 Database administration, configuration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, Replication and clustering. Responsible for Oracle 11g/12c Database administration, configuration, troubleshooting, performance tuning and advanced replication. Coordinate AWS Cloud database engines, including a combination of the following: Postgres, MySQL, Maria DB, Dynamo DB, Cassandra, Redshift, and Teradata. Responsible for Installing, Configuring and Upgrading the Database environment of SQL Server & Oracle by creating databases, storage structures and objects, and for run time Quality & Security of SQL and Oracle Database systems. Work on Database Corruption issues & Implement High Availability features like Log shipping, Mirroring, Multi-Master/Transactional Replication. Ensure Database servers are Backed Up in a way that meets the business's Recovery Point Objectives (RPO). Responsible for Backing up Oracle & SQL Server Databases using latest Backup Techniques and familiarity with Oracle Data Pump tools for import and exporting Databases. Backup SQL Databases (Full, Differential/Incremental) techniques using Avamar. Responsible for Configuring and Backing up Oracle Database using RMAN. Define thresholds on Performance Counters for monitoring tools like Nagios, Solar winds and monitor systems. Responsible for proposing and validating approved disaster recovery and business continuance solutions for Oracle and SQL Server. Patching & Upgrading Oracle Database to the latest release. Per. Engage in SmarTeam specific implementation of Oracle and Advanced replication.

Job Requirements

The position requires a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in computer science, information technology, information systems, computer engineering or a related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or database administration experience with SQL Server and Oracle. All stated experience must include the following: HA Database technologies & Server diagnosis on Oracle & SQL Servers; development and administration of Microsoft SQL Server & Oracle Databases; Oracle (10 to 12c) & MySQL (4.0 to 5.6); Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle Database systems for writing and executing queries, performing DB and server maintenance, managing backup, restore and high availability of these systems; MS SQL (2008 to 2016), SSIS, SSRS and HA; database administration, replication, monitoring, backup/recovery and security in multiple platforms; server infrastructure (Windows, Linux) and virtual environments (VMware); ITIL compliant methodologies and processes; AGILE methodology in relationship to IT/IS; SmarTeam specific implementation of Oracle and Advanced replication.
