1) Occupational Summary:
The Director of Quality Transformation is responsible for the roadmap development, implementation and leadership of a Quality Focused Project (transformation), a SAFRAN-wide initiative covering all aspects of product through-life quality requirements, working cross-Functionally across SAFRAN Seats USA LLC and in liaison with sister Business Units in France and GB. This is a key activity in the transformation of SAFRAN Seats USA LLC in the journey from Quality Control to Quality Assurance in order to meet expectations of both SAFRAN and our customers. Extensive Change Management methodologies will be required to drive the cultural change that will come as a result of the successful implementation of this activity.
2) Duties and Responsibilities (essential functions):
A) Lead Quality improvement and continuous improvement projects on site to develop a Quality culture with a "right first time" ethos
B) Develop the strategic roadmap for implementation and execution of the Quality transformation from quality control to quality assurance within SAFRAN Seats USA LLC, liaising and working with all levels of SSUSA as well as Quality personnel in SAFRAN Seats France and GB.
C) Provide effective leadership and direction to ensure effective implementation of the transformation activity, facilitating cross-Functional participation at all levels of the Business.
D) Develop and implement a SSUSA Governance and Reporting mechanism for the Quality transformation activity, aligned to Seats Co Level and SAFRAN requirements, for Project reporting and progress validation.
E) Develop business Quality metrics to underpin the Quality transformation implementation. Establish a Quality Management Reporting process for assessing performance against these metrics.
F) Undertake benchmarking for the Quality transformation activities to support the determination of SMART objectives and targets to be monitored and measured through the Quality Management Reporting process.
G) Manage and report the progress of Quality transformation activities to the VP Quality, Seats US Excom and Seats Company Level.
H) Implement One SAFRAN Quality process and operational excellence standard methods and best practices to drive effective implementation of the Quality transformation activities
I) Proactively work with all Functions to drive the effective implementation and coordination of Quality transformation activities within SAFRAN Seats USA LLC
J) Performs other duties as assigned.
3) Qualification Requirements:
A) Knowledge and Skills:
i) Lean / 6 Sigma knowledge and general improvement tools
ii) Experience in aerospace (or similar) quality processes and procedures including QRQC and APQP
iii) 8D analysis and report writing
iv) Risk Analysis
v) Quality and production experience preferred
vi) Problem solving skills (including 8D, 5 whys)
Education and Experience:
B) Education and Experience
i) Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Engineering, Mathematics, etc.) OR 6 years of related quality experience; Master's degree preferred.
ii) Additionally must have eight years of experience in Quality Assurance or related field
iii) Management experience preferred
iv) Lean / Six Sigma experience required.
v) Competent in MS packages
vi) Leadership and / or management qualification

4) Physical Demands:
This position requires extended periods of sitting while working with computers and viewing computer monitors and other office equipment. Finger dexterity needed in using misc. office equipment such as telephone, computer and copy machine, etc. Bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to approximately twenty pounds are required during tasks related to the job.
