A) Compiles product specifications, sources product, prepare requests for quotation, analyzes results and presents recommendations. Work in conjunction with engineering and quality to ensure appropriate supply chain decisions are made.
B) Prepare daily purchase orders for acquisition of items with a goal of controlling cost margin, vendor delivery, performance, and product quality.
C) Communicate daily and weekly requirements with suppliers. Obtain vendor delivery commitments and reconcile open order requirements. Follow up with vendor shortages.
D) Prepare vendor forecast reports, secure long term capacities to support company needs.
E) Maintain knowledge of supplier issues pertaining to commodity and communicate issues internally to program management, quality and engineering.
F) Maintain knowledge of market conditions pertaining to commodity, investigate cost savings opportunities.
G) Arranges the return of rejected items and ensures transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
H) Conducts supplier visits, analyzes on time delivery performance and publishes results internally and to the vendor on a monthly basis. Coordinates supplier quarterly reviews.
I) Works in conjunction with quality to analyze non conformances and acts as the focal liaison for Safran Seats.
J) Participates in the daily production and program meetings as required.
K) Report key performance metrics and benchmarks on a monthly basis which includes Purchase Price Variances, On Time Delivery Performance, Freight, Expedites, Shortages. Report results to the Purchasing Manager and the Director of Supply Chain Management.
L) Performs other duties as assigned.
A) Knowledge and Skills:
i) Must be computer literate with knowledge of MAPICS system.
ii) Must have blueprint reading skills and MRP knowledge.
iii) Proficient is the use of Microsoft Office Software tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project) and e-mail.
B) Education and Experience:
i) Bachelor's degree or 6 years realted experience.
ii) Three (3) or more years of purchasing experience required, 4-5 years preferred.
iii) MRP experience desired.

Must have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment. Ability to read and review written communication. Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.

This position requires extended periods of sitting while working with computers and viewing computer monitors and other office equipment. Finger dexterity needed in using misc. office equipment such as telephone, computer and copy machine, etc. Bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to approximately twenty pounds
