Job Description
As a mechanical design engineer, you will create basic designs of aircraft interiors, structures and mechanical systems for Fit, Form and Function to meet customer criteria, quality standards, FAA requirements, and budget and project schedules
Design and check mechanical aircraft interior furnishings, structures and/or systems
Make sure designs meet customer criteria, quality standards and FAA requirements
Adhere to budget and project schedules
Provide design guidance and feedback to other engineers
Provide liaison engineering support
Make sure we are applying best practices and identifying the need for enhanced processes, methods, and tools
Develop solutions to complex problems, which require ingenuity and innovation
Identify and communicate the need for enhanced processes, methods, and tools or new or enhanced design requirements, and provide solutions

Job Requirements
What You Must Have:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent, and 5+ years in a similar role OR equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to check engineering drawings for Fit, Form and Function
Strong Computer Aided Drafting/Design skills using AutoCAD and/or Inventor
Three dimensional (3D) design/drafting skills are preferred
Knowledge of industry design and documentation standards
Experience with mechanical assemblies and manufacturing technique design
Ability to work independently and cross-functionally as part of an established team
Strong time-management and organizational
