Safran Landing Systems in Gloucester is offering the challenging, but exciting opportunity to join our Supplier Quality team to become a Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer.
This role will be responsible for managing Quality Improvement activity within the Supply Chain value team.
You will be responsible for assessing and approving process and system capabilities externally, conducting Product, Process system and GRP0087 audits to assess suppliers for compliance.
Working closely with internal manufacturing, you will provide assistance and provide advice on parts transferring externally.
You will form strong links with our suppliers to ensure seamless New Product introduction and facilitate transition of parts within the supply base
You will promote Lean principals and allow you to train and develop suppliers in FMEA, Statistical methods and other quality tools in line with our DVI processes.
You will maintain the DK6000 approved vendor database and other databases as required with the appropriate documented reports. You will also conduct any other duties requested which, are directly associated with the role.

Complementary Description

The programme follows a structured Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering – Technical Support Technician.

This qualification is based on national occupational standards requiring you to demonstrate both engineering skills and knowledge, with the ability to organise work and identify and prevent problems.

In the first year you will spend time at a private local engineering training provider where the relevant qualification units will be delivered and assessed. As part of your apprenticeship you will complete:
• Practical training
• A technical certificate taking a Technical Support route which will assist you with the ‘theory' part of your apprenticeship.
• A Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering – Technical Support Technician will allow you to further your study selecting units relating to your role.

This will enable you to develop an excellent foundation in Engineering.

You will also be provided with job specific training relating to auditing standards and special processes.

You will have a keen interest in science and engineering and be able to demonstrate a methodical and thorough approach to work.

You will possess excellent problem solving abilities. The role of apprentice will require you to be a confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills. You will be a motivated, hard-working individual with excellent planning and organisational skills. The ability to effectively work as part of a team and on your own will be key to your success.

Successful candidates will need to have achieved, or expect to achieve at least 3 A-levels in a relevant discipline.
