What will I be doing?

During your apprenticeship:

• You will be working to aerospace specifications and internal processes
• Your main responsibilities will encompass all of the manufacturing (Machining & Special Process) methods associated with the production of high value landing gear components.

As a valued member of the team, your knowledge and skills will be utilised to assist our continuous improvement programme to reduce shop processing times, manufacturing hours, and improve product quality.

Post apprenticeship you may be required to work shift rotations comprising days, bridging, nights and when required, weekends.

Complementary Description

Your apprenticeship will follow a structured Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering- Technical Support Technician.

Year 1: you will spend time at a private local Engineering training provider where the relevant qualification units will be delivered and assessed.
Year 2-3: Will be delivered and assessed within the workplace where you will be required to achieve a Level 3 Diploma in a minimum of two of the five disciplines.

To support individual Development Plans, all apprentices will spend allocated time to work in different departments according to each training needs. The qualification will provide you with practical skills in various manufacturing processes and product verification (CNC programming, Milling, Turning and Lathes).

You will also be provided with the ‘theory' part of your apprenticeship; All of the above will enable you to develop an excellent foundation in Engineering.

What do you need from me?

You will have a keen interest in science and engineering and be able to demonstrate a methodical and thorough approach to work.
You will possess excellent problem solving abilities. The role of apprentice will require you to be a confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
You will be a motivated, hardworking individual with excellent planning and organisational skills.

The ability to effectively work as part of a team and on your own will be key to your success. Successful candidates will need to have achieved 5 GCSE's Grade A-C or 4-9 including Maths and English.
