Here at Safran Landing Systems Services Gloucester we need driven technically minded individuals to join our apprentice programme. Our level 3 apprenticeship is delivered over three years following the Engineering Technician Level 3 Standard.
What will I be doing?
The 1st year is full time at Gloucester Engineering Training, where you'll gain practical engineering skills plus academic training in Engineering language, Material Science & Engineering Maths. During college holidays you will return to Safran site. By the end of the 1st year you will have gained an NVQ level 2 qualification.
The 2nd & 3rd years are on site at Safran Landing Systems Services Gloucester 3.5 days a week, 1 day at Gloucester Engineering Training, working towards the NVQ level 3 qualification. Whilst onsite our apprentices learn all aspects of landing system Maintenance, Refurbishment & Overhaul; Getting involved in every step, including: Disassembly, Inspection & Repair Identification, Soft Stage Machining & Repair Application, Special Process, Chemical Plating, Hard Stage Machining and Final Assembly.
The level 3 qualification includes two NVQ's the first is an advanced machinist qualification, the second is chosen by the apprentice. Having grown to know the business and all the skills it needs during the 2nd year we ask our apprentices to pick a second NVQ in a discipline they enjoy.
What do you need from me?
We need talented multi skilled people who want expand their skills and knowledge to fill roles within many different departments, this may mean continuing academic training at level 4, 5 or beyond to become Technical Experts, Project Managers or move into leadership.
We have a wide variety of tried and tested career paths which, with over 300 sites globally in every aspect of aerospace can literally go as far as you wish. The Sky's the limit!
Successful candidates will need to have achieved 5 GCSE's Grade A-C or 4-9 including Maths and English
