In the UK, Safran Seats specialises solely in the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales and Brackley, England.

We are now recruiting for multiple CNC Setter Programmers to join our team in Cwmbran. For these positions, we are seeking CNC Setter Programmers from a manufacturing or engineering background with demonstrable experience with CAD CAM software such as EDGECAM, Cimatron, RADAN, Trumpf TruTops or MasterCam. The roles are working double days, rotating weekly.

Key Responsibilities & Duties will include;
• Create right first time CNC programs from model data using CAD Cam software packages to support production.
• Create setter documents using Microsoft excel and word to aid the setting and operating of production machinery.
• Raise tooling and material requirements with manufacturing engineering to support production.
• Maintain and update program libraries and records in line with company standards.
• Design JFT's, jigs and fixtures to aid manufacturing.
• Support manufacturing and design engineers through product design reviews.
• Support production with machining method issues and geometry queries.
• Support the programming team through cross-functional training in line with departments training matrix requirements.
• Support production where needed through the setting and operating of production machinery in line with business needs.

Working hours are;
Week 1 - Monday to Thursday 6am-2.30pm, Friday 6am-12pm midday;
Week 2 - Monday to Thursday 2.30pm-11pm, Friday 12pm midday-6pm.

Job Requirements

Minimum NVQ Level 2+3 Mechanical Engineering or
BTEC National Diploma Mechanical Engineering;
Time Served / Experience in Using CAD Cam Software Packages;
Time served / experience in a Production environment:
• Sheet Metal
• Machine Shop 3 / 4 Axis machines
• Vac Form CNC Routeing
• Composite CNC Routeing
Excellent interpersonal skills
High attention to detail;
Ability to build strong working relationships;
Positive can do attitude;
Ability to work without supervision in a multi-functional team.
