System Test Engineer (f/m/d)

Job Description

The System Test Engineer performs engineering tests for standard and/or custom hardware and software systems. This individual may assist in the development of test procedures and assists in the evaluation of test equipment required to perform quality checks. The System Test Engineer may assist in the construction of test fixtures.

Complementary Description

Your Tasks

• Preparing and planning test activities, including analysis, development, and
documentation of test cases and scenarios
• Drafting of test concepts
• Defining the requirements of existing and future software systems for
software tests and test automation
• Implementing and, where necessary, automation of systems, GUIs,
subsystems, integration, and regression tests with the help of state-of-the-art
test methods and tools
• Reporting test results and documenting the test procedure
• Specifying and review of professional and technical tests in close cooperation
with the corresponding department and development
• Assisting in establishing and reviewing system and software specifications
• Validating of configurations and customer-fittings of our products for
different airplane models
• Maintaining and development of tools of production and testing as part of our
aeronautical hardware platform
• Developing, apply, and maintain quality requirements for processing
components and other materials into finished goods and products
• Assisting in the design and implementation methods and procedures for
testing and inspecting the quality level of products and equipment
• Recommending corrective action for procedural, product, or process
• Continuously contribute to improve established processes

Job Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:
• Successfully completed studies in computer sciences / electrical engineering
/ physics or a comparable study program
• First years of experience working in a similar role
• A working knowledge of Linux
• Very good test-design, test-planning, test-development, and test automation
• Good command of test-process-optimization and selection of test methods
are advantageous
• Good command of object-oriented software development
• Network skills (routing, switching, firewall, network services,
Tcpdump/Wireshark) are advantageous
• Knowledge of programming and script languages, e.g. Python, C/C++, Bash is
• Knowledge of different Linux tools: make, Subversion, etc. is advantageous
• Knowledge of the V model and DO-178 standard is advantageous
