Job Title: Software Engineering Manager
Safran Electronics & Defense Canada designs and manufactures electronic control units and components for aerospace and safety critical applications. Our multidisciplinary Engineering team consists of product, hardware, software and test specialists with a vast array of skills and competencies to meet the rigorous demands of the market.
We are seeking an individual to become our next Software Engineering Manager. The successful candidate will take control of a highly skilled and motivated software team responsible for the development and verification of embedded software for safety critical aircraft systems.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and provide guidance and leadership for all Software group activities including development, verification, change management, configuration management and proposals
• Maintain and update processes, methods and procedures in compliance to industry standards, specifically DO-178C
• Support career and personal development opportunities including training and mentoring and annual performance reviews
• Provide project management support for Software activities including planning, resource allocations and risk management
• Perform recruitment, interview and selection for contract and full time employees
• Support definition and monitoring of sub-contracted activities
Technical Capabilities:
• Significant knowledge and experience working to the guidelines and objectives of DO-178B/C. Experience with Military Standards and ARP-4754A is also an asset
• Project Management knowledge including Agile methods, visual management and earned value assessment
• Knowledge and understanding of embedded control system architectures and impacts on Software activities

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
• Eligible for CGP and ITAR clearance
• Engineering or equivalent degree in Software or Computer Engineering
• 5 Years of experience in leadership position in a relevant domain
Additional Considerations:
• Ability to speak English and French is an asset as the Software team will work closely with colleagues at Safran in France
