Job Description

The Process Technician will setup and improve processes, documentation and methods in order to improve quality, productivity and cost of the manufacturing process. Additionally, the Process Technician will support the installation, maintenance, calibration and programming for all main manufacturing equipment and tooling.

Complementary Description

1. Participate in the development and documentation of Work instructions for NPI products, Legacy products, Legacy equipment, Special Processes and Future equipment for the Industrialization Department.
2. Suggest improvement for existing processes, update or create work instructions documents and make jigs/fixtures.
3. Work with Process Specialist to establish the most efficient method to manufacture and assemble parts or products to promote efficient method and develop the most suitable manufacturing processes.
4. Support Process Specialist with the development of procedures for Special Process documentation and participate in equipment qualification tasks.
5. Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
6. Support the Process Specialist with production of prototypes and pre-production samples according to cost and schedule requirements.
7. Take part in the selection, installation and qualification of all new manufacturing equipment (with the exception of product-specific Test Department equipment).
8. Responsible to keep manufacturing equipment operational and support troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
9. Responsible the programming for manufacturing equipment used in the main manufacturing equipment work centres (with the exception of product-specific Test Department equipment). Programming duties includes SMT line equipment (with Pick and Place, SPI, AOI), conformal coat robot and selective solderin

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 or 3 years college diploma Electronics, Electromechanical or Mechanical Engineering with proven proficiency in basic math, measurement and electro mechanics
• 2 + years in an electronics circuit board + unit assembly environment preferred. Strong knowledge of electronic manufacturing equipment methods and procedures
• 3D CAD and 3D printing experience preferred
• Attention to detail and motivated by process documentation
• Ability to work independently
• Familiar with Lean Manufacturing Concepts
• Strong analytical problem solving approach and hands-on experience
• Ability to prepare and present equipment maintenance reports and recommendations
• Proficient in MS Office
• Experience with health, safety and environment procedures in a manufacturing facility
• Team player who is enthusiastic, initiative, and takes pride in work well done, a self-starter dedicated to continual quality improvement
