Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor oversees the manufacturing operation, manages employees, plans and makes changes according to production schedule, promotes safety, supports and communicates company goals, rules, and standards, to employees. Promotes lean manufacturing and continuous improvement processes.

Summary of Duties:

Assuming responsibility for the development and implementation of effective production Department planning, policies, and procedures.

Assisting Senior Management in developing short and long term goals and objectives and providing suggestions and recommendations.
Participating in developing Department policies and procedures and ensuring that they support and complement Company-wide strategic objectives.
Conducting periodic reviews of existing policies. Ensuring that policies are updated and in accordance with evolving production and quality standards.
Assuming responsibility for the efficient, timely, and accurate completion of Production functions.

Overseeing production and assembly processes. Supervising assembly, inspection, and shipment of products.
Monitoring and supervising production quality, and inspection of products. Identifying problems and resolving them quickly and effectively.
Regulating work flow to ensure maximum production capacity. Monitoring the floor production schedule to ensure that products are completed according to deadlines.
Ensuring that Production functions are completed in accordance with established production, safety, and quality standards.
Effectively supervising assigned personnel, ensuring optimal performance.

Providing leadership through effective goal setting, delegation, and communication.
Directing and assigning personnel. Providing assistance and support as needed.
Training, advising, and counselling employees on current production methods. Providing suggestions to improve performance and productivity.
Conducting performance appraisals as required. Formulating and implementing employee corrective actions as needed.
Assisting with personnel decisions including hiring, terminations, wage decisions, and promotions.
Assuming responsibility for maintaining effective communication, coordination, and working relations with Company personnel and management.

Working closely with purchasing, and engineering departments to maintain schedules and implementing changes and revisions in operational procedures.
Providing assistance and support to related departments as required.
Keeping management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.
Assuming responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.

Ensuring that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
Staying informed of developments and changes in production techniques and methods.
Performing production duties as needed.
Completing special projects as assigned.
Making sure the health, safety and environment rules and policies are effectively followed and maintained.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

Education: Minimum of College Degree or equivalent education. Additional education or training in Manufacturing is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 3-4 or more years in a related role.
Computer Skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, email, ERP system.
Other Skills: Individual must be well organized. Individual must possess planning and time management skills. Individual must be quality oriented and possess problem-solving skills. Individual must also have a strong understanding of production, procedures, standards, and knowledge of Quality Control Standards and systems.
