Job Summary

The CNESST Coordinator is responsible for managing and supervising all CNESST (Commission des normes, de l'équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail) compliance and workplace safety activities within the manufacturing company. He or she ensures that the company complies with all health and safety rules established by the CNESST, promotes a safe working environment, and handles all claims and reports relating to workplace accidents. The CNESST coordinator works closely with various departments to implement safety programs, provide training and participate regularly in prevention efforts.

Summary of Duties

Process all CNESST requests and files;
Review and advise on the cost and choice of CNESST limits;
In collaboration with the attorney, establish appropriate strategies and ensure that all necessary elements are gathered for the files;
Raise the company's awareness of the need for a gradual and safe return to work;
Promote the importance of temporary assignment to employees;
Develop and plan tasks according to the restrictions and limitations of injured employees;
Proactively manage absenteeism due to workplace accidents;
Provide HSE training for new employees.
Manage (coordinate and schedule) first-aid team and EHS committee;
Coordinate all site injury protocols.
Maintain and analyze HSE performance indicators.
Fully manage all work-related accident files.
Obtain accident information from all relevant parties.
Update management and monitoring information, as well as tracking various administrative files and operating systems.
Oversee the accident investigation process.
Review and implement an absenteeism management program;
Communicate regularly with payroll services regarding absences;

Job Requirements

Qualifications

Certificate in occupational health and safety, industrial relations, business administration or related field.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in occupational health and safety, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Thorough knowledge of the CNESST retrospective plan.
Thorough knowledge of CNESST regulations and standards.
Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and influence employees at all levels.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and knowledge of safety management software.
Occupational health and safety certification (e.g. CRSP, CHSC) is an asset.
Fluency in French and English is mandatory.
