As a fully owned subsidiary of Safran Electronics & Defense, Safran Electronics & Defense Australasia Pty Ltd (SEDA) delivers and supports various products including high performance optronics and inertial navigation equipment.

Headquartered in Sydney, SEDA brings local expertise in the integration of optronics and navigation systems for the air, land and naval platforms of the Australian and New Zealand Defence Forces.

The purpose of this role is to support the Program Manager to meet customer requirements and standards for the delivery of SEDA projects. The Senior Project Controller will be responsible for the project control function and associated processes including the scheduling resources. The role will actively manage and deliver reporting of project progress including Earned Value Management (EVM), Risk and Opportunities. The role will administer the project risk, opportunity and action registers for SEDA projects. The role will also supervise the project scheduler.

Complementary Description

RESPONSIBILITIES
Create and maintain Contract Master Schedules (Baseline Schedules and Status Schedules)
Supervise project scheduler and provide guidance to cost controller
Establish and maintain the Contract Work Breakdown Structures (CWBS) and CWBS dictionary,
Maintain data integrity amongst ERP, timesheeting system, schedule, Cobra and WBS dictionary
Conduct accrual costs reviews for both internal invoice claims and subcontractor invoice claims
Workforce planning for existing and pipeline projects
Implementing baseline change processes and apply executed CCP clause in EVMS and schedule
Maintain monthly program status reporting for internal senior management meetings and customer meetings
Review subcontractor monthly reporting and liaise with international teams to produce timely monthly reporting
Support bid process and standardise bid templates
Manage the monthly reporting cycles including schedule status and Earned Value reporting process

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Department of Defence security clearance to Negative Vetting Level 1
Exceptional attention to detail
Demonstrated supervisory skills
Demonstrated ability to work with customers and suppliers
Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making.
Commercial and Financial acumen.
Strong written and oral communication skills
Proactive, Autonomous, Rigorous, Organised

Job Requirements

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering, Commercial or Project Management
Minimum 3 years' experience in similar role that was involved in production management in Defence Industry
Experience with Defence Industry Earned Value Management Systems including leading projects through integrated baseline reviews
Skills and experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (ERP), MS Project and/or Open Plan Professional (OPP), COBRA Earned Value Management (EVM) and tools to support project planning and monitoring.
Good understanding of Agile methodology in software development and how it integrates with EVM
An understanding of the Commonwealth procurement process, the systems engineering process and the related Australian Defence Contracting Suite (ASDEFCON).
Experience delivering projects in an ASDEFCON environment.
High proficiency in Excel
SharePoint administration and PowerBI skills preferred
