Headquartered in Sydney, SEDA brings local expertise in the integration of optronics and navigation systems for the air, land and naval platforms of the Australian and New Zealand Defence Forces.
Working on a permanent part-time basis and based in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), the Military Advisor will be responsible for current and future issues that relate to the defence environment and the potential impact on Safran Electronics and Defense Australasia (SEDA) and its strategic objectives.
Reporting to Chief Executive Officer, this role will ensure SEDA's formal partnerships with Defence officials, our key customers and stakeholders, and engagement with other organisations are managed effectively.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Providing military advice to the CEO on aspects that relate to current and future opportunities for SEDA.
Ensuring that SEDA's formal partnerships with Defence and key customers and stakeholders are managed effectively
Design and implement a government advocacy strategy enabling our influence at all levels of government across our key priority areas of defence
Identify key stakeholders and build strong relationships to increase our impact
Provide communications planning advice and co-develop communications strategies and plans with the Senior Management Team and their departments
Work with our Marketing team, concerning public relations planning and execution, including creating and executing media pitches, and planning media events and opportunities
We are looking for a candidate who is confident and has the following attributes :
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security clearance
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Proactive, rigorous and well organised
To be successful in this role, you must have:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or similar
• Extensive experience within Defence, CASG and/or Defence Industry, including business development experience with a track record of success
