Job Description

The Head of Sales and Marketing is responsible for the sales & marketing, contract, and project management activities in Australia and New Zealand covering SAFRAN Electronics & Defense Australasia (SEDA) Maritime, Air, and Land portfolio

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the incumbent will comply with the business strategy defined jointly by Safran Electronics & Defense France and SEDA. In addition, this role will manage contractual arrangements based on the yearly objectives established jointly to implement the business strategy.

Complementary Description

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Oversees the Sales and Marketing programs of SEDA's (commercial and defence) Maritime, Land & Air equipment, portable devices, systems, and services across Australia and New Zealand
• Manages budgets and evaluates sales performance
• Researching and developing marketing opportunities and plans and understanding consumer requirements
• Build and maintain excellent customer relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Manage Oversees the preparation of tenders and bids
• Define business development plans & strategies for both mid-term and long-term
• Liaising with Prime Contractors and Sub-contractors
• Supporting the senior leadership team with market intelligence, data, and trends
• Actively participate in the local implementation of the SEDA business strategy
• Develop business and capture plans to address the local market opportunities
• Establish market surveys and benchmark SEDA products and services
• The organisation of local seminars, exhibitions, trade shows, and conferences
• Local management and operation of demonstration equipment and systems
• Sustains rapport with key accounts, government departments, and industry partners by making periodic visits
• Manage all human resource aspects of the department including recruitment, coaching, performance management; professional development, and mentoring to individuals within the department

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum five years' experience in a similar role in the defence industry
• Bachelor's degree in a business-related discipline
• Experience in contract management i.e. ASDEFCON contractual framework
• Experience in tender and bid management
• Technical and/or operational expertise in electro-optics
• Technical and/or operational expertise in navigation systems
• Technical and/or operational expertise in combat systems

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Good working relationships with ADF organisations: CASG, Navy, Army, Air Force
• Good working relationships with local industry in Australia
• Good working relationships with NZDF organisations
• Good working relationships with local industry in New Zealand
• Strong analytical, organizational, and creative thinking skills.
• Business Development, Tender, or Proposal experience
• Technically minded and qualified.
