Job Description
The Facilities Manager is responsible for the security, maintenance, and services of work facilities to ensure that they meet the needs and requirements of the organisation, Safran standards, regulatory bodies, and its employees.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Setting budgets and controlling expenditures.
Implement and manage procedures for the department.
Coordinate the raising of investment quotations for facilities activities.
Manage the facility staff and contractors.
Manage and conduct external and internal facility audits.
Perform Risk Assessments (e.g. Fire and Workplace Health and Safety, Environment and Security).
Responsible for maintaining Facility Registers regarding hazardous substances, environmental issues, periodic servicing of on-site equipment, and the contractor database.
Working knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and procedures
Maintenance
Manage the compliance of both facilities to Safran standards as well as other relevant regulations.
With the support of the Supply Chain Manager, liaise with contractors regarding maintaining the facility including improvements to the facility, compliant with relevant industry requirements.
Manage the preventative (scheduled) maintenance of facility assets and systems and the upgrade of these assets.

Ensure the maintenance of workshop equipment is in a serviceable condition ensuring that periodical maintenance is carried out on special equipment and that accurate records are kept for these maintenance operations.
Manage and supervise all subcontractors' on-site activities regarding the setup and maintenance of plant and general equipment and ensure their understanding and adherence to SEDA policies, with special emphasis on the WH&S and Environmental Standards.
Provide training to the subcontractors (induction training, WH&S standards)
Test Equipment
Ensure all equipment, including product-specific test equipment calibration and configuration management (including the performance of in-house calibration tasks),
Manage the obsolescence of all workshop equipment
Ensure the maintenance of workshop equipment is in a serviceable condition ensuring that periodical maintenance is carried out on special equipment and that accurate records are kept for these maintenance operations.
Manage and supervise all subcontractors' on-site activities about the setup and maintenance of plant and general equipment and ensure their understanding and adherence to SAFRAN Australia policies, with special emphasis on the WH&S and Environmental Standards.

Drive and improve the Safran HSE standards applicable for facilities Perform HSE and induction training to all staff as relevant to the facility
Security
Manage the personal, physical and Comsec security requirements as required by Commonwealth regulations.
Implementing and following up on the safety/security of SEDA in accordance with the security policy expressed by the Corporate Security.
Developing and implementing Security Standing Orders (SSO) to provide employees with a guide to their individual responsibilities.
Being the first point of contact for advice on all security matters.
Being active in promoting a positive attitude towards security.
Responsible for Chief Fire Warden duties, SEDA fire controls and procedures (emergency procedures and instructions)
Business Continuity Planning (e.g. disaster recovery and emergency procedures)
Environmental Tasks
Involvement in all aspects regarding the implementation of environmental requirements and reporting any environmental issues to management.
Manage the environmental performance (e.g. behavior change initiatives).
Where there is a gap in SEDA compliance with any environmental standard requirements the Facilities Manager is to rectify/correct the non-compliance.
Make recommendations consistent with ensuring that all company activities are eco-friendly and meet the company's environmental objectives.
Job Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE:
A mechanical or technical trade qualification or related discipline
Demonstrated experience managing subcontractors.
Experience in service scheduling (maintenance).
Experience in managing explosive atmospheres (ATEX) and knowledge of the relevant standards.
Knowledge of Australian Defence Force Security regulations.
PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent English language skills (written and spoken).
Strong leadership skills.
Self-starter with proven ability to manage multiple projects and change priorities.
Highly organised with accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form.
Discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
Self-composed and ability to perform under pressure.
