Job Description

We are currently seeking a suitably experienced and qualified Document Controller & Production Planner reporting to the Engineering and Planning Manager. This role has a duel responsibility to both manage documentation and to assist the Engineering and Planning Manager to plan the flow of work through the industrial process.
Document Controller & Production Planner is responsible for managing all internal and external documentation received from our Original Equipment Manufacturers and regulatory bodies, whilst managing the Document Change Request (DCR) system and the archiving process.
The Document Controller and Production Planner is responsible for the generation of internal reporting to assist the Engineering and Planning Manager to ensure all Operations / Transactions are completed to match actual workflow and that the cadence of the workflow matches the Master Production Schedule (MPS). Under the direction of the Engineering and Planning Manager, the Document Controller and Planner will liaise directly with the Production Manager and Lead Mechanics and/or the Lead Machinist to provide Master Production Schedule updates, Power BI reporting and to update SAP planned dates or details as required.


Duties and Responsibilities
The Document Controller & Production Planner role entails the following:
• Point of contact for all incoming OEM documentation.
• Ensuring all technical documentation is current and available for use.
• Monitor the compliance of the Technical Documentation Management System to Safran HE, Group, OEM & Regulatory requirements.
• Management of documentation reviews for all new incoming external documentation and follow-up to ensure that all reviews being completed within the allocated review time period.
• Supervise and support the creation of new documentation, and updating of existing documentation.
• Management of the Document Change Request DCR system to ensure compliance and adequate Turn Around Time (TAT).
• Support the process owners with the documentation change requests DCRs.
• System administrator of the Documentation area on SharePoint (including, but not limited to, the set-up of new employees, control of permissions and restriction access).
• Liaise with OEM to inform of any discrepancies with the document version in terms of format used, Revision number, Language etc.
• Measure the performance of the Documentation Control through adequate KPIs.
• Management of archiving process.
• Generate reporting to ensure the Master Production Schedule is up to date with production activity
• Update SAP fields or statuses as required to ensure Production are aligned to Master Production Schedule requirements
• Liaise with Production Leads to ensure Planning requirements are understood and achieved

Job Requirements

• Diploma of Document Control or Diploma of Library and Information Services or Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
• Document Management experience preferably demonstrated in a technical or aviation environment.
• Planning experience in an aviation Maintenance Repair and Overhaul Environment
• SAP Experience
• Power BI Experience
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including SharePoint.
• Advance knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Professional.
• Knowledge of the structural set-ups of document libraries.
• Knowledge of databases.
• Technical writing skills.
