Job Description

The Chief Financial Officer will work with the local senior management team as well as the international management team to ensure business assets, and accounting activities have functional integrity, proper controls, are well managed and operating efficiently.

The successful applicant will be responsible for all financial and accounting activities of SAFRAN Helicopter Engines Australia. This will include International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Australian Financial Reporting Solutions (AFRS) accounting standards, financial planning and analysis, cost accounting, and ensuring full compliance with all regulations and Corporate governance.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Implementing financial reports for the Managing Director, Board of Directors, Parent company and/or other senior managers with necessary financial data to make decisions and monitor performance (KPI's)
• Implementing and enforcing policies and procedures to ensure accounts are compliant with the Group policy, IFRS, AIFRS and Australian Tax Law
• Managing the financial accounting, reporting and budget activities
• Providing month-end reporting to the Group
• Responsible for all accounting and tax decisions but can liaise on these matters with the SAFRAN Group
• Evaluating and enhancing the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting their budgets
• Enhancing and managing the appropriate financial structure with regard to general ledger, cost accounting and time and material accounting compliance
• Ensure integrity of SafranHE Australia's receivables and payables management
• Develop a reliable cash flow projection process ensuring minimum cash availability to meet operating needs
• Coordinating Internal Control campaign and Trade Compliance with SAFRAN
• Leading and managing audits and reviews of financial activities, including but not limited to financial statement audits, tax audits and cost accounting audits
• Ensuring SafranHE Australia meets fiscal and legal requirements
• Tax documentation compliant and available for tax authorities
• Preparation and lodgement of all taxes (income tax, GST, FBT, PAYG & Payroll Tax)
• Responsible to lodge all legal documents with ASIC
• Preparation of Statutory Financial Statements
• Ensuring the IT / IS systems meet SafranHE Australia's development requirements and that the IT system operates at maximum levels of efficiency, stability and capability
• SAP local support as well as any other major information system
• Lead the digital initiatives
• Providing strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization
• Manage all aspects of the department including performance management; professional development and support to individuals within the department.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor degree in accounting or Finance and CPA
• Minimum ten years' experience in accounting with growing level of responsibility
• Exposure to Financial Audit
• Experience in a multinational corporation environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills and communication (written & oral) skills
• French language skills and experience in SAP would be highly advantageous
