Job description

The responsibility of the Production Lead Hand is to oversee the flow of production within his/her line. To ensure all policies and procedures are respected and that deadlines are being met through time and resources management. Ensure employees are aware of newly implemented and or changed policies and procedures as directed by his/her Supervisor.

Summary of duties:

Plan and prepare work for his/her team in advance
Ensure that tasks have been completed within the allocated time
Monitor daily production progress and provide WIP (work in progress) status to his/her Supervisor
Ensure the shop area is clean
Ensure all policies are being respected – (i.e. Health and /Safety and LEAN manufacturing philosophies). Provide information on breech of policies to his/her Supervisor
Support his/her Supervisor in tracking employee's performance (Job knowledge, attendance, quality productivity etc…)
Reassigning manpower to the hottest priorities throughout the shift
Leadership skills, ability to handle stressful situations. Lead team by example of being flexible cooperative and friendly
Strong analytical abilities
Organized and efficient
Strong communication skills
Ensure product meets required Quality standards
Responsible of tracking all parts received and shipped out of the department
Fill Supervisor responsibilities in his/her absence

Job requirements

Education: Trade in discipline
Experience: Previous assistant lead hand or supervisor experience
Computer Skills: Excel, word
Other Skills: Ability to read engineering blue prints is desirable.
Languages: Capacité de communiquer en Français et Anglais.
