Objectives and research work:
The thesis will be carried out within the framework of a CIFRE agreement with the company SAFRAN Composites (R&T platform of SAFRAN group). The PhD candidate will be in charge of developing a hybrid twin platform merging physics-based and data-driven models for monitoring the in-service AFP process. Model reduction and machine learning algorithms will be used to decrease computational complexity allowing fast data analyses and computations taking into account real parts specificities. Essentially, this project will set the basis to close the workflow loop offering a capital tool to optimized AFP processes.
Among the main objectives, we can highlight the following:
- • To study and implement the necessary instrumentation (sensors, signal processing, …),
- • To build and exploit (robust tracking and reliability) a database from in-line and post manufacturing controls.
- • To elaborate an interactive hybrid twin AFP platform providing feedback regarding specifications, to assess the AFP performances.

You are expected to hold a master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing, or Machine Learning with links to the field of Mechanical Engineering. We expect a demonstrable interest for numerical activities, research approaches and industrial process. Additionally, clear motivations to discover new fields and ability to efficiently interact with teammates are required.
