Job description

The Vice President, Technical Expertise and Audit is responsible for driving functional excellence, master engineering reviews, and the technical audit and expert networks globally across Cabin. This position will report to the Executive Vice President, Engineering for Cabin, with dotted line (functional reporting) of BU staffs (BU TA focal, Technical, Domain Leaders, Expert Network).

Vice President, Technical Expertise and Audit provides professional and technical guidance across Cabin to ensure that effective engineering practices, processes and procedures are developed, implemented and adhered to for all divisions. Ensures the most effective use of the tools and facilities is achieved. Provides direction to management regarding all activities and policies related to the product line's design, engineering and production efforts.

Summary of Duties:

  • • Deploy and implement key topics of Technical Audit function for Safran
Cabin Company with active support from EVP Engineering, Cabin and
Company HR.
  • • Develop and implement master engineering reviews processes (aligned with
Safran Group processes) through Technical Audit focal and expert network.
  • • Manage Company expert management program with active support from
Company Human Resource department.
  • • Maintains and animates TA/Expert network to perform engineering reviews
in order to structure the expertise & leverage it across the Safran Cabin.
  • • Develops and implements standard design review process and reporting in
support of V & V process.
  • • Stimulate and steers in coordination with the EVP Engineering and technical
experts the consolidation and update of Safran Cabin design manual.
  • • Assists more generally BUs and EVP Engineering Engineer with regard the
right first time design and engineering best practices sharing and
deployment.
  • • Continue leading development of certification by analysis process with OEMs
and regulatory agencies.
  • • Continues efforts on standard and regulatory developments with industry
and regulatory authorities.
  • • Manage critical and strategic competencies, define trainings and develop
Knowledge Management
  • • Ad hoc reports on design risks depending on the criticality of issues, and
support to mitigation action plan development (general orientations or
detailed planning depending on the situation).

Job requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline.

Experience: 20 years of experience developing Cabin products and systems; 10
years formal leadership experience with proven track record of
effective team-building and talent development within a design and
build organization.

Masters Degree preferred

Multi-site experience preferred
