Job description

Key aspects of this job include the following:

  • • Technical responsibilities for specific manufacturing engineering projects
  • • Assist with preparation of project budgets and planning
  • • Manage and support new industrialisation
  • • Conduct Process FMEAs, root cause analysis and process validations
  • • Manage projects which include new production equipment/tooling, process improvements and cost reductions activities
  • • Organise and manage review meetings with peers and shop floor personnel
  • • Present progress / achievements of projects to the wider community and various management levels
  • • Improve product quality, labour/assets efficiency and production lead-time through the use of lean manufacturing
  • • Promote professional and personal development of all team members

Job requirements

You will need a comprehensive knowledge of Production and more importantly:

  • • Positive attitude towards development and learning new skills
  • • Be innovative, creative and work with minimal direction
  • • Lean experience (Green Belt / Black belt preferable)
  • • Work effectively with cross-functional teams and within your own team
  • • Knowledge of CATIA V5 or equivalent CAD software
  • • Knowledge of grinding technologies and conventional machining
  • • Have strong organisational, problem solving and communication skills with various levels in the business
  • • Have the ability to write technical reports clearly and accurately (in English)
  • • Sound knowledge of HSE and ergonomic requirements
  • • Knowledge of current and future industrial technologies and their capabilities
  • • Experience of coaching member of a team to help develop their technical knowledge
