Job description
Transactional support the Operational Purchasing Team whilst learning and developing purchasing skills and knowledge.
Process purchase requisitions and supplier applications for individual business units.
Support the Purchasing Team in the request for quotations (RFQ's) and tenders for specific purchases.
Learn to accuratly report and deliver cost savings in accordance with process and procedure.
Build supplier relationships and learn about supplier management tools and techniques.
Monitor supplier performance in line with contract KPIs.
Work collaboratively with the Purchasing Team to understand and support business strategy.
Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders.
Accurately update Purchasing databases.
Where required, support the Purchasing Team with the implementation of commodity strategies.
Delegated resposibilities of Buyers.

Undertake any other duties as reasonably required within your competency.

Undertake any training and development activities at the request of your line manager.

Job requirements
Experience / Skills
Essential:
Demonstrable experience of working within a Customer Service environment.
Proficient with Advanced MS Excel and MS PowerPoint skills.
Experience of working to deadlines.
Proficient administration, numerical and organisational skills.
Desirable
Previous experience of working within an Indirect Purchasing role.
Experience of working within a Shared Service Centre environment.
Analytical skills covering written, graphic, numerical & statistical information.
Qualifications
Essential
5 GCSEs A-C, or equivalent (including Maths & English)
Desirable
3 A-Levels, or equivalent
