Our Customer Support department at Safran Landing Systems in Gloucester is offering a challenging and exciting opportunity of the Apprenticeship programme to become a Customer Support apprentice.

At Safran Landing systems we have a variety of customers with different requirements and expectations of our customer support team.

Main responsibilities through your apprenticeship will be to:

  • • Provide product knowledge and support to both internal and external customers.
  • • Investigate and solve in service issues with airlines and operators
  • • Produce, review and update technical documentation to support air framers for a variety of products
  • • Forecast spares demand using statistical analysis working with other team members to integrate market intelligence into the forecast
  • • Complete in depth data analysis to identify areas of concern and propose recommendations for improvement to avoid excessive and shortages of products.

All of the above will enable you to develop an excellent foundation in Engineering.
Your knowledge and skills will be utilised to assist our continuous improvement programme to ensure that our customers are supported through the life cycle of products.

Job requirements

You will have a keen interest in science and engineering and be able to demonstrate a methodical and thorough approach to work.

We are looking for motivated, hard-working individuals with excellent planning and organisational skills. The role of apprentice will require you to be a confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills and excellent problem solving abilities. The ability to effectively work as part of a team and on your own will be the key to your success.

Educational requirements
Successful candidates will need to have achieved, or expect to achieve at least 5 GCSE's at grade C or above to include Maths, English, Science and a technology.

Complementary description

Your apprenticeship will follow a structured Level 3 Engineering Technical support diploma.

Year 1: You will spend time at a private local engineering training provider where the relevant qualification units will be delivered and assessed.

This qualification will provide you with practical skills in various manufacturing processes (CNC programming, Milling, Turning and Lathes) and theory including Mathematics, and engineering science.

Year 2-4: Will be delivered and assessed within Safran where you will be required to achieve a Level 3 Diploma.
To support individual Development Plans, all apprentices will spend allocated time to work in different departments according to each training needs.
