1) Occupational Summary:
The Quality Assurance Data Analyst will lead and perform complex analysis in an evolving data environment and synthesize the data into information consumable by multiple levels of stakeholders including senior business decision-makers. In addition to very strong technical skills utilizing data mining techniques, this position will have superb business process analysis and interpersonal skills. The ability to extract and analyze data, patterns, and related trends is required to drive system data and performance management improvements.
2) Duties and Responsibilities (essential functions):
A) Drive change in business processes through the use of advanced analytics in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
B) Complete projects that require data mining, analysis, and presentation.
C) Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques, Identify relevant trends, and provide non-recurring and recurring reports.
D) Quickly identify drivers that present themselves in the data and drive communications with stakeholders required to focus on solutions.
E) Coordinate and interface with the Information Systems Organization as required to develop and design information pull schemes, WEB based interfaces, business system upgrades required to manage data, automate processes, write scripts, and act as a conduit to communicate strategic quality requirements.
F) Provide data and information management support to strategic programs such as Direct Ship Authority (DSA), and Designated Supplier Quality Representative (DSQR) programs, etc.
G) Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality. This includes filtering and “cleaning” data acquired from business and quality systems, and other informal data collection vehicles. Identify and resolve associated data integrity issues.
H) Develop metrics and processes to assess quality standards.
I) Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets including evaluating scenarios to make predictions on future outcomes and support decision making. Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs including identifying new data points for enhanced reporting to improve business operations.
J) Provide analytical support for new projects, integrated process improvement teams, new business opportunities, and proposals.
K) Participate in Kaizen events, across Safran Seats USA and OEMs as required to drive process improvements.
L) Performs other duties as assigned.
3) Qualification Requirements:
A) Knowledge and Skills:
i) Working user knowledge of MRP/ERP operating systems (BAAN, SAP, MAPICS, QMS, etc.).
ii) Strong familiarity with pivot tables and macro development using Excel.
iii) Analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and opportunities for improvement.
iv) Strong abilities with the tools utilized in data analysis and related software and business systems applications.
v) Capable of handling information system / data system, file manipulation and integration. Interpersonal and communications skills required to resolve issues.
vi) A solid understanding of WEB technologies, relational databases and multi-tier applications. Ability to write SQL scripts to extract data from relational databases.
vii) Familiar with continuous improvement methodologies.
viii) Have the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, including the ability to manage assignments from multiple customers (internal and external).
ix) Must be able to interface with all departments within the company and work well with multi-cultural employees/customers/suppliers.
x) Work independently with high level of confidentiality, professional standards and ethics.
xi) Demonstrate strong organizational skills in an office environment with in-depth familiarity to company rules and office procedure.
xii) Demonstrate good grammar and communication skills with the ability to work under pressure, set priorities, handle confidential and sensitive company matters and meet deadlines.
xiii) Proficient knowledge and ability to produce documents using a computer (Microsoft Windows, Word, Visio, Project, Excel, Power Point and Internet and Lotus Notes).
xiv) Understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Lean principles, Six Sigma, and team building.
B) Education and Experience:
- • Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience (6 years).
- • 2 years' experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- • Experience interfacing with multiple levels of an organization (senior management through operators; customers and suppliers).
- • Experience creating pivot tables and writing scripts or / and macros required to automate manual data management processes.
- • Experience creating visual designs regarding clear and accurate presentations of data to multiple levels of stakeholders; including management, and customers.
- • Experience working in an Information Technology organization and / or Quality Assurance organization.
- • Experience using the DMAIC process or equivalent training (root cause analysis)
- • Green Belt Certification or other root cause analysis training
