Job description

1) Occupational Summary:

Responsible for the development and execution of all Maintenance, Facility, and ESH programs/operations at the Gainesville facility. Oversees the areas of facility and equipment maintenance, general housekeeping, materials recycling, hazardous and general waste disposal, regulatory and compliance, emergency response, safety equipment installation, and special event set-up/tear-down, and more. Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by developing and implementing policies and procedures that exceeds regulatory compliance and business needs. Provide leadership support and direction to drive safety initiatives and build a culture where each individual takes ownership for his/her safety and those around him/her. Establish a positive working relationship and credibility with company employees, regulatory agency officials, community leaders and industry officials that will make Safran Seats a recognized leader in Environmental, Safety and Human Factors.

2) Duties and Responsibilities (essential functions):

A) Review and audit the compliance with Safran EHS standards.
B) Remain current on regulatory changes and make updates as legally necessary.
C) Translate Safran standards into operational procedures to facilitate application at site level.
D) Maintains the facility, machines and equipment as a clean, operational, safe, and accident free work environment.
E) Maintains an aggressive attitude toward timely and accurate accident investigation, reporting, and comprehensive corrective action.
F) Manages industrial capital improvement projects and associated budget tracking
G) Proactively seeks out process improvements in all areas of maintenance, facility, and safety operations.
H) Consistently renegotiates better contracts with external vendors and constituents.
I) Periodically audits existing maintenance operations, processes and personnel. Recommend and drive changes, as required.
J) Minimizes cost while maximizing productivity and quality.
K) Maintains budget adherence for ESH and Maintenance Departments.
L) Ensures compliance with standards of OSHA and other regulatory and/or accrediting bodies.
M) Manages facility Security Services.
N) Manages outside contract for janitorial services.
O) Performs other duties as assigned.

Job requirements

3) Qualification Requirements:

A) Knowledge and Skills:
i) Must have strong knowledge of federal and state safety industrial safety regulations (OSHA, EPA and TCEQ), as well as ergonomics, human factors, machine safety and environmental safety.
ii) Thorough understanding of facilities management including facilities and machine maintenance processes and procedures.
iii) Must have direct knowledge of state Workers' Compensation laws.
iv) Must have direct knowledge of manufacturing systems, operations, methods, procedures and all related FAA requirements.
v) Must have strong administrative and organizational skills.
vi) Must be an effective communicator, motivator and leader.
vii) Direct managerial/supervisory experience in maintaining, monitoring and documenting safety protocol and/or risk experience required.
viii) Ability to work a flexible schedule and occasional travel as required.
ix) Preferred knowledge and experience with HIPPA compliance.
x) Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to creatively develop and implement solutions
xi) Strong project management skills
xii) Strong business and financial management skills. Ability to analyze and manage an annual, departmental budget.

B) Education and Experience:
i) Bachelor's degree in environmental safety and health, or related field OR 6 years equivalent experience required plus a combined ten years in an EHS and facilities /maintenance managerial role
ii) Must be computer literate with PC training in Windows and Microsoft Office Programs.

5) Travel:
