In the role of Import Compliance Officer, you are critical for our compliance to all US Customs requirements. You'll have the opportunity to ensure Import compliance though the execution and oversight of all import procedures related to our business. This position contributes to our vision by:

  • • Providing oversight of all import processes including tariff classifications, NAFTA, CAA & other Free Trade Agreement (FTA) qualifications, Country of Origin determination, valuation, reconciliation, record keeping, post-entry audits, and anti-dumping and countervailing duties
  • • Developing and maintaining relationships with customs brokers and related government agencies
  • • Maintaining the Customs Broker Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and ensuring that all Safran Electrical & Power customs brokers are in compliance
  • • Maintaining the Safran Electrical & Power Product Classification Database (PCD)
  • • Coordinating all import related activities and communication among Safran Electrical & Power sites
  • • Performing audits, internal and external, as a part of ensuring Import Compliance
  • • Making reports and presentations to the highest levels of the company

Job requirements

Safran Electrical & Power looks for service-oriented team players with strong interpersonal skills, the right attitude and adaptability to an innovative and evolving environment.

  • • Requires a Bachelors Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics or other related fields from an accredited institution or at least 10 years of Customs/Import related experience
  • • Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in Customs/Import related functions/roles
  • • Requires expert knowledge in US Customs processes
  • • Requires advanced knowledge in cross-border and reconciliation processes and advanced negotiation skills
  • • Up to 25% travel required
  • • Preference will be given to bilingual candidate (English-Spanish) and/or those holding Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) and/or Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) certifications
  • • Must be a US Citizen due to government contract requirements
