Job description

In order to develop and expand the capabilities of Safran Engineering Services in the UK we are looking for engineers to develop and expand our Test Equipment development activities.

You will complete activities on our projects which including design, development and build of ATE (Automatic) and MTE (Manual) based test equipment for one of our aerospace customers.
You will need the technical skills to ensure that the test equipment design achieves the tested product coverage requirements, and to design the interfaces (mechanical and/or electrical) between the test equipment and the unit under test.

Responsibilities:
Responsible of the technical definition of Test Equipment.
To Design, develop, construct and commission MTE and ATE based test equipment (hardware and software)
Support the PM with the scheduling, progressing and reporting activities
Use of NI LabView to control modular Automated Test Equipment
To develop test solutions for development and production testing.
Responsible of the documentation of test requirements, test coverage and test methods
To review equipment requirements and suggest ways to improve quality, maintainability and accuracy

Job requirements

Essential skills:
Interpretation of customer test documentation into validated test solutions.
Ability to understand and specify the test equipment capabilities in accordance with the product test requirements.
Good knowledge of National Instruments (NI) hardware and software.
CLD qualification.
Good experience working with TestStand.
Knowledge of electronic circuit design.
Good understanding of the capabilities & limitations of various programming languages.
Good knowledge of project management methodologies
Ability to work to tight, demanding deadlines and customer demands.
Team spirit/Ability to work effectively within an integrated project team
Customer focused/Ability to establish credibility with internal and external customers
Excellent written and oral Communication skills.
Use of MS office tools
Desirable skills:
Certified with National Instruments CLA.
Certified with National Instruments CTD
Knowledge of CE marking process.
Experience of Schematic capture, and Mechanical drawing (CAD or similar)
Familiarity with RTCA/DO-178B and/or RTCA/DO254
Experience with Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow toolset and with Boundary Scan and/or J-Tag.
