Aerospace

Safran Aerosystems Middle-East Services in Dubai provides maintainance, repair and overhauls (MRO) services to all the equipment on board the aircraft of many Middle Eastern airlines. A 4,000 m2 site located in the UAE repairs a wide variety of components, including breathable air controls, seats, evacuation slides, and all HVAC devices etc.

Preventive Maintenance Inspections (PMI) & associated repairs on GE90-110/-115 Fan Stator Modules (FSMs).

At Dubai, Safran Nacelles provides MRO services via its joint venture AMES (held 50/50 with AFI KLM & EM) for the aircraft nacelles and radomes of Middle Eastern airlines. AMES celebrated its tenth anniversary in February 2020 and simultaneously inaugurated a 1,500 m2 extension to its MRO center (initially 2,000 m2) so it could also carry out MRO work on the FSMs (Fan Stator Modules) of GE90 engines.

Defense

The defense activity in the country is managed by the Safran Representative Office in Abu Dhabi, which has the role of representing Safran and liaising with the governing bodies and representatives of the UAE, with their armed forces, with the French diplomatic representatives and with the entire aeronautics industry and its players. A significant proportion of Safran’s defense activities in the United Arab Emirates consists of maintaining and repairing engines from the UAE Mirage 2000-9 aircraft (and also those from Qatar and Egypt); optronics and navigation equipment in service in the country; and the military and civil helicopter fleets.
