Decarbonization: towards carbon-neutral aviation by 2050

Rise to the challenges of climate change and sustainable mobility in air transport: these are the priorities of the Group climate strategy. Safran's ambition is to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050. To support the transition, the Group is counting on disruptive technologies such as the development of a new generation of engine architectures, reduced weight of equipment, the use of sustainable aviation fuels and hybrid electric technology. Decarbonization of the aviation sector also involves reducing the emissions from production and maintenance operations, including human activities and infrastructures, in the aircraft manufacturing industry. For this reason, Safran has implemented a low-carbon plan across all its production sites to significantly reduce the emissions from its operations. Sovereignty: working to protect citizens

In a backdrop of increasingly intense geopolitical tension, it is crucial to ensure the protection of citizens, by proposing defense solutions to the armed forces to prevent danger, preserve democratic stability, and enable nations to exercise their sovereignty. This is what Safran does, by developing observation, decision-making, and guidance products and services for the defense and space markets. This Group expertise is widely recognized on a global level and allows us to continue developing technologies in many other fields.

Operational excellence amplified by the digital transformation

New digital technologies are deeply impacting our societies and the digital transformation of business is a significant issue. For an industrial high-tech group such as ours, digital technology is a real game changer, a driver of performance and growth. Data management, connectivity, augmented reality, cobots: making the digital transition in industrial processes, engineering and services activities is a reality across all our sites. Digital tools are causing a revolution not only in our production sites, but also our work methods and customer relationship.
