In the UK, Safran Seats specialises solely in the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales and Brackley, England.

We are now recruiting for a Composite Technician to join our Production team in Cwmbran. The role of Composite Technician is to be competent in the assembly of composite panels and components to drawing specification, be able to embrace change and be willing to adopt new skills to support the area. To be able to meet procedural guidelines and health and safety as specified by the Composite Area Team Leader. Must have a Willingness to cross train across all composite functions, to work as part of a team & have a positive attitude.

Key Duties & Responsibilities;
• Able to insert panels with the correct type of mechanical fasteners
• Bonding of inserts, blocks, pre-preg angles using various adhesives
• Drilling and tapping of holes
• Bonding composite panels and sub assemblies using adhesives to drawing specifications
• Sealing bonded/painted components using adhesives and silicone sealants
• Produce work to required quality standards
• Produce work to drawing specification and procedural guidelines
• Maintain all health & safety disciplines in the composite area
• Self inspection
• Lay-up and CNC skills would be an advantage
• Willingness to participate in improvement activity across the business
• Ability to read and understand basic engineering drawings and procedures
• Experience of using various hand / air tools
• Ability and experience of working with adhesives including epoxy resins and silicones
• Be experienced in all aspects of Fill & Fair
• Experience of using various hand / air tools

• Awareness and adherence to all the company Health & Safety procedures
