Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Export Control Officer manages and assists with adherence to internal and external requirements (laws, rules, regulations, standards, statues, contracts, agreements, etc.) in a wide range of areas including, but not limited to, the following:
• U.S. export control laws and related laws, rules, and regulations.
• Company policies, procedures, manuals, proposals, contractual documents (Technical Assistance Agreements, export control clauses, etc.), technical publications, OEM documents, standards, specifications, etc.

Export Control Duties:
• Establish, implement, and maintain the export compliance program and related policies and procedures. Conduct export control training for all employees.
• Alert the CEO of any non-compliance and support corrective and preventive actions.
• Receive instructions from and make reports to the Safran Group Export Control Officer (GECO) as required, in accordance with Group Procedures including GRP-0164.
• Support the export control function of the Safran Tier 1 Company and provide regular export control reports.
• Update the company export control risk mapping and register.
• Determine the classification of goods in accordance with the U.S. Munitions List, Commerce Control List, and Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States.
• Determine export licensing requirements for both dual-use items and defense articles and services under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

Skills and Requirements:
• Master's and Bachelor's degrees in appropriate fields and at least ten years of U.S. export control and compliance experience.
• Experience with EAR, ITAR, FTR, OFAC, FCPA, SNAP-R, DECCS, ACE and CBP.
• Experience with technology control plans, deemed export reviews, and vetting companies and personnel.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to work with and through global, cross-functional teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and leadership skills.
• Ability to determine export jurisdiction applying appropriate analysis.
• Ability to manage a complex workload of multiple projects.
• Ability to manage multiple daily requests with prompt responses.
• Ability to manage, train, coach, and mentor people.
• Expertise in a wide range of software including Microsoft and Adobe products.
• Broad range of knowledge of engineering and technology in aerospace applications.

Quality and Process Support:
• Author and update company policies and procedures, in conjunction with the various processes owners.
• Support and conduct internal and external audits for policies and processes.
• Support compliance with industry regulations such as CE Marking.
• Provide and facilitate training on company processes and industry requirements.

Publications Support:
• Assist the Technical Publications department with the department processes, customer deliverables training, budgets, and schedules.
• Author and edit publications including the white papers, management systems, proposals, manuals, specifications, service bulletins, export license applications, technical assistance agreements, technology control plans, project export assessments, process documentation, business forms, marketing materials, etc.

Facility and IT Infrastructure Support:
• Assist with the facility infrastructure issues that relate to compliance.
• Work with the IT department to manage the document control system, including the access and availability of documents and data such as manuals, standards and specifications, OEM publications, technical documents, etc.
